Behavior

We hear a lot about developing new habits and that it takes 30-40 days to make them part of who we are. When it comes to looking at the Bible and a certain passage always ask the questions: What does this mean to me? and What should I do about it?

Look at James 1:22-25,  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror  and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

In other words, be a doer! If you keep it simple it is easier to keep your focus. I am excited to have the opportunity to participate in 40 Days in in the Word (www.saddleback.com/40ditw/) .  During this time we can learn new habits, and find the answers to many of our questions.

Be wise today and always. Start a good habit today.
