Reflection

Thanks to mirrors we can see ourselves as others see us. Scripture is a mirror for us. It helps us see ourselves as God sees us, He wants us to respond to what we see in that reflection.

James 1:22-25 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror  and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Sometimes it is possible to completely miss seeing a problem in yourself, even if the mirror is right there in front of you. How can that happen? It can if we choose not to remember what we saw or keep our eyes closed!

Do you avoid looking in the mirror of Scripture? It time to open your eyes to see wonderful things in God’s Word. Remember what He shows you through it.

Be wise today and always – do what the Word says.
