Jesus came to serve man, and told His disciples that
they were to do likewise. The greatest in the kingdom of God are those who put
others ahead of themselves. Through our service we honor God and draw others to
Him.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your
good Spirit lead me on level ground. -Psalm 143:10
But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest
among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who
serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves?
Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. -Luke
22:26-27
Do not merely listen to
the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the
word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a
mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he
looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives
freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing
it--he will be blessed in what he does. -James 1:22-25
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an
inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.
-Colossians 3:23-25
But be very careful to keep the commandment and the
law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to
walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve
him with all your heart and all your soul." -Joshua 22:5
May the Word of God guide us as we serve Him with all we got. Amen?
