Pleasing God

Enoch is this week’s hero of the Bible in my sermon series. He was a man who pleased God. His God story life’s theme would be: Please God in all you do. Little has been written but much has been said about this Godly man. We first hear of him in the book of Genesis.

When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.  After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.  Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.  Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. - Genesis 5:21-24

This passage describes Enoch's walk and his private life. The word walk denotes a devout life, lived in close communion with God. He did this for a period of 365 years. He was faithfully consistent in his relationship with God.

May we strive to be walking with God and not away from Him. Amen?
