Foundational

This week I began a four-year journey through the Bible from Answers in Genesis. The first lesson I led was, God’s Word Is Our Foundation, and is the standard we use to judge every thought. Psalm 119:89–90 tells us, “Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”

When we consider the most pressing problems in our society today, let us look to the Bible for answers.

Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.- Psalm 86:11

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. - Psalm 119:105

The application and precepts of God’s Word will give us the direction and wisdom we need.

7The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward - Psalm 19:7-11

Do you recognize any areas in your life where you are not looking to God’s Word as the absolute authority?

How can you change your attitudes?
