We kicked off AWANA this week at my church - very exciting! The K-2nd grade group is called Sparks! It made me remember of a time I once challenged
my church to become "sparks". You know, we sometimes become fixated on the fire
or spiritual bonfires because they are exciting . God calls us to start the fires of
relationship, evangelism, and revival in the world around us. It all starts with a spark! A kind act, a
word of encouragement, being an attentive listening, and sharing Christ's love
and hope can cause a fire to burn in someone's heart.
Romans
1:16-17 states: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of
God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to
the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed as
righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The
righteous will live by faith.
