Prayer isn't the least thing you can do in
a crisis, it's the most important thing you can do! The question for a Christ
follower is not should we pray, but what are we praying for? People ask, and we
should pray for healing and comfort. But I would like to offer to you a
startlingly alternative- pray Jesus! Complete healing and true restoration can
only come from Him.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for
each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person
is powerful and effective. James 5:16
The world needs Jesus more than we need gun
control, mediation, new laws, or anything else. Pray that Christ would come in
to the hearts and lives of those who are embittered, angry, hurt, or full of
hate. Only Jesus can offer love, hope, mercy, forgiveness, and a peace that
passes human understanding. We all need Jesus.
