There is great wisdom in the Bible about money.
There are 500 verses on faith, 500 on prayer, but over 2,000 on
finances. I think there is much to learn. Spend a few minutes today
reading through these proverbs on the subject. Pray how God wants you to apply them to your life.
Proverbs 10:4 - Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent
hands bring wealth.
Proverbs 14:23 – All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk
leads only to poverty.
Proverbs 22:7 – The rich rule
over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Proverbs 23:4-5 – Do not wear
yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance
at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to
the sky like an eagle.
Proverbs 30:8-9 – Keep
falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me
only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say,
‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of
my God.
Proverbs 3:9-10 – Honor the
LORD with your wealth, with the first-fruits of all your crops; then
your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new
wine.
Proverbs 11:24-25 - One man gives
freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A
generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
