Three truths about Gathering (also known as fellowship and worship):
1. We were wired
for fellowship and worship.
Revelation
4:11; “You are
worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created
all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
This is God’s plan from the beginning
till the end of time.
Revelation 7:9; After this
I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count,
from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and
before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches
in their hands.
2. God’s will is for us to
gather together.
Hebrews 10:24–25 - And let
us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not
giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging
one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Stop making excuses! If the
devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy!
3. Fellowship and Worship are
action verbs.
Romans 12:1 - Therefore,
I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies
as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper
worship.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as if you were working for the Lord and not for a person.”
Romans 12:1 in the Message, “… Take your everyday, ordinary life—your
sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before
God as an offering (an act of worship).”
Take from your “gatherings” and be
involved in your church and community. Amen?
