Yesterday
we looked at God never changes, but believers are to be changed and
transformed. Here are two more thoughts (and Scripture) about God’s promises
and change:
1. Believers
need to change their thinking.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in
every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is
right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything
is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. - Philippians 4:6-8
2. Believers must change their focus to the
eternal.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet
inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary
troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is
seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
