Solomon now had all the physical materials, blueprints, and the location for the building of God’s House, the Temple in Jerusalem. He still needed to dig to put in a good foundation to build on, but we will see the spiritual foundation from God was even more important and longer lasting.
1 Kings 6:11-13
The word of the LORD came to Solomon: 12 “As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father. 13 And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.”
God reminds Solomon of three things:
1. Follow His decrees
2. Observe His Laws
3. Keep all His commands
If he did then God promises that He will:
1. Fulfill His promises
2. Dwell among them
3. Not abandon them
We can build with assurance on God’s promises. We need to be faithful.
