Take Your Medicine

“The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved.” Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. - Jeremiah Time had gone by and the problem had gotten worse for God's people (Jeremiah 8:18-22). The prophet knew that the worse was yet to come. He was broken, sorrowful, and afraid. God just told Jeremiah that He had not left them, but they had turned away from Him.
When you are asking God to do something during troubled times you must be patient and honest about your condition. Questions need to be addressed about how the trouble started and what part do we need to own up to. We have to listen and obey God's directions for our lives. Any type of healing has to start with honestly acknowledging your problem and be willing to allow time for recovery. John tells us;
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 1 John 1:5-7

Live and get well by God's truth (and grace). It's the best medicine you can take. Amen?
