In our AIG class this week we looked at spotting false teaching. There
are three basic errors promoted by False Teachers.
1) They change the
gospel of salvation by grace through faith alone.
2) They deny the
deity of Christ or another member of the Godhead.
3) They deny the
death and/or Resurrection of Jesus.
“And I know that his commandment is eternal
life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.” I warn everyone
who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God
will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away
from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in
the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book”. - Revelation 22:18–19
We can test the Claims by asking three questions:
1) Does it make false predictions?
2) Does
it add to or take away from the 66 books of the Bible?
3) Does
it make statements that contradict the Bible?
Be wise in who and what you believe.
God’s Word is always true – follow that path. It will take you “home”. Amen?
