Have
you ever heard the story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody
and Nobody?
There
was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but
Nobody did it. Somebody got angry at that, because it was Everybody's
job. Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. The final result was
that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have
done.
Today,
more than ever, somebody needs to be responsible for the mission of church -
making disciples. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority
in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
end of the age.”- Matthew 28:18-20.
Everybody
is responsible, so church it's time to get busy and not count on anybody
else. Amen?
Be
about God's work today and always. Amen?
