Pity Party

I had a friend tell the story about what a rotten day she had recently. Her husband walked in during her "lamenting" but wanted no part of it. She said, "I invited him to participate in my pity party, but he declined!"

Funny how bad we think things are sometimes, but from another's viewpoint maybe it's really not as bad as we make it out to be. Look at what David wrote in Psalm 46:1-7:

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Be wise today and always - turn to God in your trials don't throw a pity party.
