See You Again

Six months ago today I received a phone call that none of us ever want to receive. My Father had passed away. At 86 you would think that it wouldn't have been a shock - but it was. Even in his older years Dad was the picture of life. He loved life, family, people, laughter, and showing love to those around him. But one thing that Dad loved more than all of the above...He loved Jesus.

I miss him terribly but I would never wish him away from where he lives today - in heaven with Jesus. I'm so glad the Lord made this plan so clear to his disciples 2,000 years ago and to us today in John chapter 14.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

To know Jesus is to know God. To know God is know your eternity. I'll see my Dad again, and it's going to be beyond fantastic.
Amen?
