Picking

Do you remember being a kid at recess or gym class when two people chose who would be on their team? Some of us may have been good athletes who were the pickers or always chosen first. Others may have been in line praying not to be picked last. As believers I am so glad we don’t have to go through all that drama, because Jesus said in John 15:16, " You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name."
There are no last picks in God’s family – we’re all equally wanted, cherished, and love. In return we should “play hard” for God bearing fruit by sharing the Gospel and serving in the name of Jesus. Then we will know and ask for the things of God. That’s a win in my books.
Temporary things don't last but God is eternal. Bearing fruit gives us hope for today knowing we’ll be spending eternity with Him.
Amen?
