Peace comes from an
immovable trust that God is in control. This enables the Christian to live
above his/her circumstances. When someone is not at peace it typically is
displayed in crankiness. Usually it is because we feel pressed for time because
we have so many things that “need” to be done. Martha was freaking out because
she felt she needed to get dinner on the table but her focus should have been on
Jesus first like her sister Mary. "Martha, Martha," the Lord
answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but
only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be
taken away from her." - Luke 10:41-42
Do you have a time set
apart each day to be with the Lord? Have you ever skipped your quiet time
because the “to do list” for the day was so big? How is your disposition on
those days, cranky?
Spending more time with God
on those busy days will give you the strength, wisdom and time to accomplish
your tasks. Martin Luther was quoted as saying, “I have so much to do,
that I cannot get on without three hours a day of praying.”
Even Jesus who was faced
with a busy day of healing went away to spend time with the Father: Yet
the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear
him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often
withdrew to lonely places and prayed.- Luke 5:15-16
Trust God who should be in
control of your time and He will give you the time necessary to fulfill your
purpose. Amen?
