Christmas Reminders

Every Christmas serves as a reminder to our past, present, and future. You know, where we’ve been, are, and hopefully going. Let’s not forget that there are things God wants us to remember.  Read Psalm 85, it is a great place to begin.

Through the Bible and especially Psalm 85:10 we are told these three attributes of God. 10Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

1. Love You, Lord, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. (and John 3:16)

2. Faithfulness 11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. 12 The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

Isaiah 9:6 -For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

3. Righteousness 13 Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.

Romans 22-24 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

4. Peace - John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. God’s peace passes all understanding, but it is available to all who call on Him!

Remember and don’t forget - I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.
