“O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years, Are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary. And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep,
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years, Are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary. And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep,
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together, Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King, And Peace to men on earth”
O morning stars together, Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King, And Peace to men on earth”
Did you ever wonder who the first Christian
missionaries were? They told everyone they saw about Jesus. It was the
shepherds whom the angels appeared and then they went to see the Messiah in
Bethlehem.
We are told this in Luke 2:17–18 - When they had seen Him,
they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. The Good news about Jesus' birth was something to be shared!
This Christmas remember, we have someone to share, not only
a baby in the manager, but a man on the Cross, and returning King!
"O holy child of
Bethlehem, descend to us we pray; cast out our sin and enter in; be born in us
today. We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell; O come to us,
abide with us, our Lord Immanuel."
