This week we will look at nine possible answers using
Scripture to answer the question: Why
Do Christians Have to Suffer?
Answer 5. To reveal what you
really love.
Look up the complete story in
Genesis 22:1-14 and read here Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when God
tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the
promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had
said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will
be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God
could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive
Isaac back from death.
It is testimony to Abraham’s willingness to
sacrifice his son Isaac. To love God is the greatest commandment, and here we
see that trials help us to love Him as we ought. Even when it doesn’t make
sense, and even if we don’t want to do it.
Be wise today and always be
willing to sacrifice it all for Jesus.
