On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:12-13
Sometimes Christians fearfully think, that some people are too sinful for God to forgive.
Matthew betrayed his people by becoming a tax collector. He cheated people by collecting too much tax. He led a sinful lifestyle, but Jesus loved Matthew in spite of his sinful lifestyle.
God loves this world and does not want them to perish in their sins. (John 3:16)
The next few days we will look at reasons we give for not sharing our faith, and the answers that can be found in the calling of Matthew as Jesus' disciple.
