Life Tree

What do we know about the “Tree of Life” that we see in the Bible?

It brings us closer to God both spiritually and eternally. It is a reward to all believers.

It’s mention at the beginning and end of time.

Genesis 2:9 - The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 3:24
- After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Revelation 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

We are given more information about the tree:

Proverbs 3:18 - She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.

Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.

Isaiah 40:1-5 - Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

This is our hope and by faith we can go forward. Amen?
