Problems

We all have problems. Let’s learn how to deal with them with help from Nehemiah in the Bible.

How big is the problem in Nehemiah 1:1-18?

The Problem: The walls of Jerusalem are broken down and the people are in great trouble and disgrace.

The Problem with the Problem:
The leader is geographically far away from the problem.
The Jews have no material to rebuild the walls.
The people have no will of their own to rebuild the walls.
There was great opposition to the rebuilding of the walls.

Nehemiah’s Process for Problem Solving:
1. He turned to God.
This should always be our first step!
2. He turned to the King (earthly powers).
God can provide help from many sources.
3. He became Personally Involved.
Don’t expect others to care if you don’t get involved.
4. He got the People Involved.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Nehemiah’s closing words of encouragement:
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Remember big problems can be solved

Be wise today and always - keep focused on the task  at hand.
