Love
with your “heart and soul” is mentioned 30 times in the Bible. The first time
we see it is Deuteronomy 4:29 - But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you
seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
When someone gives their “heart
and soul” we know it means that they gave all they had. Do we love God
that way?
The Bible talks a lot about
your soul at least 95 times, so we know it’s of the utmost importance. Your
soul is from God It’s what causes the difference between us and all other
creation. Humans alone are made in the image of God. Our souls are God-breathed
in to us. It is eternal. Matthew 16:24-26 - 24 Then
Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny
themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For
whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses
their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be
for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone
give in exchange for their soul?
Many
believe in Life after death but what about Life before death? Christ conquered
death, so if death is behind you then all you have in front of you is life in
Christ! Start living for eternity today.
