Do you trust your Advocate
or your Accuser? God is willing to stoop down and be your advocate. We see an example of Jesus stooping in the book of John.
“But early the next morning
he was back again at the Temple.
A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the
teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught
in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.‘Teacher,’ they said
to Jesus, ‘this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says
to stone her. What do you say?’ They were trying to trap him
into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and
wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood
up again and said, ‘All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the
first stone!’Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one.” (John 8:2-9)
“Have this mind among
yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of
God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied
himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”
(Philippians 2:5–7 esv)
Jesus is also our defender.
“Who can accuse the people
God has chosen? No one, because God is the One who makes them right. Who can
say God's people are guilty? No one, because Christ Jesus died, but he was also
raised from the dead, and now he is on God's right side, appealing to God for
us.” (Romans 8:33–34 ncv)
The apostle John called Satan the
Accuser.
“For the accuser of our
brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them
before our God day and night.” (Revelation 12:10 nlt)
Down forget that condemnation of mankind is Satan's specialty. He wants you to look backwards or down not forward and vertical.
Be wise today and always - allow Jesus to be your defense in a fight against evil.
