Here
is a great aspect of Spiritual Growth - Growing is about
transformation It’s about moving from something we’re not to something
we should be.
Paul
tells us:
Do not
conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his
good, pleasing and perfect will. - Romans 12:2
What
is it we should be when we’re all grown up?
Paul
says in Romans 8:29 that we’re supposed to be “conformed to the image
of God’s son.” “Conformed.” In Romans 12, he says
we’re supposed to be “transformed.” To be transformed is
to have our form changed. Trans means “change.” To be
conformed is to have our form changed with another. “Con” means “with.” The
goal of our growth is to be changed to “conform” to the shape of God’s son—to
think and act like Jesus.
Be
transformed so you can conform to Jesus Christ. Amen?
