Recovery and Health

The first step to recovery is admitting we have a problem. The next is the desire to get well. In chapter six Jeremiah prophesized of an invading of the land of Judah and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldean army (vv. 1-6).
It will be an awful time for the Hebrew nation. There will be looting (v. 6:9) and the terrorizing throughout the land (vv. 22-26). The sins of Judah and Jerusalem provoked God to bring this desolating judgment upon them. Read the chapter and look at the six reasons for their punishment.

1. Their wickedness (v. 6:7)

2. Their disobedience of God’s Word (vv. 6:10-12)

3. Their worldliness (v. 6:13)

4. Their false prophets and teachers (v. 6:14)

5. Their unrepentance (v. 6:15)

6. Their contempt for Godly teaching (vv. 6:18-19)

Their sins made their sacrifices unacceptable to God (v. 6:20), and He gave them up to their own ruin (v. 6:21).
