Today on Back to Church Sunday I pray that throughout the country the power of God's love, mercy, forgiveness, and great grace are on display. You know He has a great track record in changing lives and empower ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His glory. Are you ready to tap in to the power source? Here are 3 Examples of Power:
1. The power of the Lord’s
Word.
I am not ashamed of the
gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who
believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. (Romans 1:16)
For the word of God is
living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews
4:12)
2. The power of a
believing and clean heart.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers,
in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any
longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good,
pleasing and perfect will. -Romans 12:1-2
3. The power of the response
to Christ. Look again at Mark 1:27-28,
The people were
all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and
with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” 28 News
about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee .)
Responses to God showing up:
1. They were amazed
2. They questioned
3. They spread the news
everywhere.
May God do the same now in His churches throughout the world! Amen?
