Be Filled

There is a warning Jesus gives to all of us in Matthew 12:43-45: “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

Jesus is speaking to the crowd of unbelievers about their future fate. I also believe the warning here is very real today. I’ve seen it to many times. A person has an “experience” and gives up things that are not good, and cleans up his life. Now that’s a great thing to do, but there is a problem. If you haven’t experienced salvation your body may be clean, but it is not occupied. It is empty, therefore allowing the evil to come back.

If you truly believe in Jesus as your Savior, you will clean up your life, and fill it with the Holy Spirit and God’s Holy Word. They’ll be no place for demons or evil because Christ has taken up residence!

Be wise today and always – be filled with the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.
