Ephesians 6:17 tells us to: Take the helmet of salvation and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. This is part of the armor
God provides for us to put on every day. The sword is the only offensive weapon
we need.
Remember a sword needs to be
sharpened if it is to remain useful—and it certainly won't sharpen itself. We
need to set aside some time every day for regular Bible study. Through 40
Days in the Word we have learned marvelous techniques to study the
Bible. Pick a topic you don't know as well as you'd like or a character trait
you would like to improve and delve into it. Through continuous practice, we
will keep our blades razor sharp and always be ready to defend the hope that
lies within us.
